Published by the Japan Foundation, Manila, ART ARCHIVE 03: A Collection of Essays on Philippine Contemporary Music and Design is the third book in a series that explores current trends and concerns in the Philippine contemporary art. This volume features sixteen contributors, putting forth a diverse set of perspectives about contemporary music and design in the country.
The book is published in a digital format for accessibility. As a primer for readers interested in Philippine art, it is meant to be used as a resource to foster cultural exchange and knowledge sharing for artists, educators, and art and cultural institutions in the Philippines and abroad.
Covering Philippine contemporary music and design, the first section contains essays devoted to a particular type of music that is fully practiced at present and therefore significant to a community. The second part revolves around the issue of sustainability in design contributing to a movement, both local and global, in reaching a sustainable future.
The Editorial Team also presents the Virtual Book Launching of ART ARCHIVE 03 in Youtube, introducing the contents of both Music and Design sections. The videos also include insights and discussions between the editors and contributors about their essays and work. View the videos below:
