No-Touch Touch by Soup of Grace

No-Touch Touch
Soup of Grace
October – December 2020

The No-Touch Touch project is a choreographic research and collaborative effort headed by Herbert Alvarez and Ma. Elena Alvarez. They gathered more than thirty (30) artists (including Nukuto Chihiro, Krina Cayabyab, Ruelo Zendo, Nicole Primero, Rita Winder, Teresa Barrozo, Sasa Cabalquinto, and many more) who confronted the limitations of creating in a time of crisis. It is a response to the pandemic and how it has driven choreographers and creators to find other ways of continuing their art. It aims to look into the feasibility of choreography even without a physical space, without touch, without a stage – through the visual medium of film and collaborative efforts from dancers and musicians who are based in Japan, Philippines and other parts of the globe.
