Sustaining Culture-Arts Programs through New Modalities
MSU-IIT Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG)
August 10 – December 30, 2020

This program was a capacity-sustaining project aiming to maintain the levels of competence during these pandemic circumstances of Culture and Arts organizations. The program sustains pre-pandemic culture-arts activities by providing means during this transition of quarantine through digital modalities (webinar) to reinforce practice, knowledge, and craft. It also prepares for the next phase of a foreseen return to the “normal” through the production of new material and production means using both live and blended mediums.

Acknowledged dramaturgs and theater practitioners with international reputation are the mentors in the program.  Particularly required are suggestions of how New Modalities of performative expressions may be used citing their own experiences in their locales. The resource persons were: MAKOTO Sato (Japan), Aubrey Mellor (Australia), Nicholas Pichay (Philippines), and program proponent and lead facilitator, Steven P.C. Fernandez (Philippines). A total of sixteen fellows from various regions in the Philippines were the direct participants in fifteen webinar sessions interacting with the facilitators and invited experts.
